RECKLI® Stripping Wax TL-W - Aqueous, low-pollution, ready-to-use concrete release agent RECKLI® Stripping Wax TL-W - Aqueous, low-pollution, ready-to-use concrete release agent

Properties/ Application of RECKLI® Stripping Wax or Release Agent TL-W

RECKLI® Stripping Wax TL-W for concrete is a low-pollution, ready-to-use, totally solvent-free, diluted release agent specially developed for RECKLI® Formliners and Moulds. RECKLI® Stripping Wax TL-W is also suitable for use on other non absorbent formwork foundations e.g. sealed wood or shuttering surfaced with plastic. In each case, the effects should be established on the basis of preliminary tests.

RECKLI® Stripping Wax TL-W is an ester-wax emulsion which forms after drying a wafer-thin film when sprayed onto a foundation. This film is not displaced when the concrete is applied. Discolouration, cloud formation and rings which are normally associated with oil-modified stripping agents are generally avoided.

RECKLI® Stripping Wax TL-W does not have any of the problems of adhesion which typically arise with oleiferous release agents concerning the subsequent coating or painting of the concrete surfaces. Nevertheless, priming coats containing solvents should be used to improve adhesion.

Processing RECKLI® Stripping Wax or Release Agent TL-W

The formwork foundation must be clean and dry. RECKLI® Stripping Wax TL-W is brushed or sprayed thinly onto the foundation. Excess material must be removed from recesses. With intricate patterns, make sure that any brush or spray "shadows" leaving uncoated spots are avoided. Concrete is applied when the emulsion has dried out. The drying time depends strongly on the temperature and ventilation. It is, however, also possible to lay on the concrete immediately after the RECKLI® Stripping Wax TL-W has been applied without affecting the operation. But too much surplus leads to retarding effects of the concrete surface.

The stripping-wax film must be protected from erosion due to rain and other weather conditions.

Consumption of RECKLI® Stripping Wax or Release Agent TL-W

Approx. 80-100 g/m² according to type of patterns or absorptive strength of foundation.

Supply and Storage of RECKLI® Stripping Wax or Release Agent

In 1-kg tins; 2-kg and 9-kg plastic canisters.

RECKLI® Stripping Wax TL-W contains water and must be protected from frost. This automatically excludes using the material at surrounding temperatures around freezing point. Containers which are sealed, cool and stored frost-free can be stored for approximately 6 months.

Safety precausions for RECKLI® Stripping Wax or Release Agent TL-W

RECKLI® Stripping Wax TL-W is a low-pollutant, aqueous release agent, RECKLI® Stripping Wax TL-W does not have to bear any markings prescribed by the ordinance relating to dangerous substances. Nevertheless please observe the safety data sheet.

This pamphlet is intended solely as an application directive. It does not claim to be binding and valid for all modes of application. RECKLI® recommend carrying out a preliminary test application relevant to full-scale application every time.
